Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026
The short version
- NoScams checks texts on your iPhone. The texts it checks are not saved and never sent to us.
- There is no account. We don't know your name, email, or phone number.
- We only receive a message if you choose to report it. Personal details are removed on your phone first, and you send the report yourself.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or use tracking.
This policy explains how the NoScams iPhone app and the noscams.app website handle information. NoScams is operated by PolicyPage LLC, a District of Columbia limited liability company ("we", "us").
Automatic text filtering
When you turn on NoScams as your text message filter, iOS sends the app the sender and text of messages from senders you don't know, so it can decide whether a message belongs in Junk. This check runs entirely on your iPhone.
- iOS does not give NoScams messages from your contacts or from people you have replied to several times.
- Apple's design blocks text filters from saving messages or connecting to the internet on their own. Apple offers apps an optional way to send hard-to-judge messages to the developer's server; NoScams does not use it. NoScams does not send filtered messages to us or to anyone else.
- The app keeps a count of how many messages you've checked yourself this month, and the list of senders you've marked as trusted. Both stay on your device.
Checks you start yourself
When you share or paste a text, email, link, or screenshot into NoScams, it is checked on your iPhone. Screenshots are read on your device using Apple's built-in text recognition, and you choose each image with Apple's photo picker, so NoScams never has access to your photo library. Nothing you check is sent to us unless you choose to report it.
Reports you choose to send
If you tap Report, NoScams opens an email to [email protected] containing the message, its links, and the verdict the app gave. Before the email opens, the app removes personal details on your phone, such as phone numbers, email addresses, codes, account numbers, amounts, and the name in a greeting. You can edit the email, and nothing is sent unless you send it. Because reports arrive by email, we see the address you send from and use it only to reply. We use reports only to find new scam patterns and fix mistakes, and we may publish the wording of confirmed scam messages on noscams.app to warn others, with personal details removed and links disabled.
Scam pattern updates
The app periodically downloads an updated list of scam patterns from our servers. Like any internet request, this reveals your IP address to our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which processes it under its own privacy policy. We don't use these requests to identify or track you.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your name, payment card, or billing address. Apple tells the app only whether you have an active purchase.
Website
noscams.app does not use cookies or advertising trackers. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying individual visitors. If you email us, we use your email address only to reply.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share personal information.
- We don't access your contacts, location, photo library, or message history.
- We don't use third-party advertising or analytics tools inside the app.
Children
NoScams is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
Because we don't collect personal information by default, there is usually nothing about you for us to access or delete. You can stop automatic filtering at any time in the Messages app under Manage Filtering, and you can delete the app to remove everything it keeps on your phone. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access or delete personal information; to make a request, email [email protected].
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects what data leaves your phone, we'll say so in the app before it takes effect.
